  • 'The Story So Far' recap video available from the main menu: watch a three-minute summary of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.
  • Reduced memory usage, particularly in Europolis.
  • Improved overall performance.
  • Fixed stuck on black screen when loading into certain scenes (e.g. Pandemonium).
  • Fixed shaders that sometimes caused graphical artefacts on all platforms.
  • Altered some visual effects on Mac and Linux that were causing black artefacts (e.g. in opening cinematic).
  • More granular options in graphics settings (e.g. disable depth-of-field, change shadow draw-distance).
  • Updated German subtitles and voice overs, and updated French subtitles.
  • Improved localised menu interface.
  • Fixed random failure to retrieve list of Facebook friends.
  • Always syncs with Steam Cloud when game exits.
  • Support for Xbox One controller in Windows verified. Make sure you are using the official Microsoft drivers.
  • Bloom effect on Chinese lamps and Crowboy map in Europolis. For some reason these went missing in v1.1. They are back!
  • German voice-overs. A large number of German voice files mysteriously vanished from the previous version. We apologise for that. They are also back!
  • A save-game bug that made it possible to travel back in time if you visited the biolab while on the campaign trail. This only happened if players loaded a previously saved game and went back to the biolab during a particular point in the story.
  • If you walk away from Arn Stont in Friar's Keep without responding to his pleas, your choice will now be properly summarised at the end of the game (it was already remembered by the game, so you do not have to replay the game for this choice to take effect).
  • Floating characters in Europolis when loading a pre-v1.1 save-game. These characters have been grounded…literally.
  • A bug in Pandemonium where a rogue second camera caused a severe performance hit. Frame-rate should be higher in Mira's shop now.
  • Broken collision in House of All Worlds, allowing the player character to walk outside the world. This hole-in-the-world has been plugged
    …and a whole host of smaller fixes and tweaks, including a 'consequence notification' for the most important choice in the game: Zoë's career.

  • Improved memory management: memory usage is now 15-20% less in Europolis and should help players on 32-bit Windows and/or with 3GB of RAM. Memory optimisation can also help reduce frame-rate stuttering.
  • Fixed graphical glitches on AMD and Intel GPUs causing broken corneas: no more crazy laser eyes!
  • Added checkboxes to disable camera effects.
  • Steam sync improvements. The game no longer keeps save games in RAM, reducing memory usage.
  • Fixed frame-rate issue in Zoë's apartment.
  • Collision fixes in various locations. No more escaping through the scenery! (At least, we hope so. Please report any remaining loopholes.)
  • Changed eye-icon to F-icon (or equivalent key binding) when drawing the player's attention to an object or character.
  • Fixed a bug where 'Consequence' text was out of bounds and did not display correctly in some languages.
  • Fixed a bug where the 'submit changes' and 'revert changes' buttons would be incorrectly displayed when showing the UI the first time.
  • Fixed a bug where labels/text for items in drop-down lists would disappear (and made the lists look better).
  • The player should no longer be able to open the inventory when there are no inventory items. This addresses issues players were having while opening the inventory in House of All Worlds, resulting in either seeing Zöe's items from Europolis or creating a bug where the cursor would be stuck on screen, making it harder to move around.
  • No more interactables on moved or removed assets (e.g. invisible cars on Kaprova).
  • On start-up, depth-of-field is disabled on Macs with integrated Intel GPU. This can be manually re-enabled but will affect frame-rate.
  • Replaced missing lightmaps in Pandemonium.
  • Wrong gender on one of the NPCs near Pandemonium
  • Fixed window and door camera collisions in Dr Roman's office to avoid camera clipping through surfaces.
  • Rebaked occlusion map to avoid vanishing scenery on the rooftop in Friar's Keep, Sister Sahya's office, Dr Roman's office and in Europolis.
  • Added missing French subtitles for Sister Sayahs office.
  • Added version number in title settings menu: you can finally see which version of the game you're running!
  • Fix for buggy save-game thumbnails.
  • Footsteps have been fixed in Friar's Keep.
  • Shitbot regains missing flapping fabric animations for his stupid mouth.
  • Reduced reverb in dreaming girl's bedroom in Storytime, and in the Hand that Feeds.
  • Removed non-functional talk action on vendor in Europolis.
  • De-synced synchronised NPC animations in Friar's Keep (Murron's guards) and in Europolis (EYE guards harassing Nela).
  • Added buzzer interaction if Zoe goes to Pandemonium directly after Nela.
  • Added missing lip-sync and missing subtitle for Mr London.
  • Collision fix on stairs to university lab in Europolis.

  • Introducing 'exclusive' full-screen mode for Windows, which may improve performance for some users.
  • Added option for vertical sync in visual settings.
  • Improved memory usage in Europolis.
  • Brought back missing ambient sounds in Europolis. The previous patch contained a bug where some sounds — mostly diegetic music — disappeared.
  • Added link to our privacy policy. Exciting!

  • Full German localisation and French subtitles for Book Two.
  • Fixed an issue with jittering animations occurring during cinematic sequences on lower spec OS-X systems.
  • Solved a problem where the game would occasionally crash during startup on certain Mac systems with AMD GPU.
  • Fixed a bug where the game crashed in the Enclave soon after starting the episode on some Mac systems with AMD GPU.
  • Fixed a problem with the WATI adbot getting stuck in Chapter 4.
  • Solved some bugs with the Bip escort mission in Chapter 3. Bip should now reappear and/or reposition if he gets stuck or disappears during the mission. You can also 'reset' Bip manually, by exiting the location and re-entering (e.g. by going in and out of the Rooster and Kitten or Mole's burrow).
  • Fixed an issue with the Azadi runner getting stuck or disappearing during his rounds in Chapter 3. Like Bip, the runner will also reset if you exit and re-enter the location.
  • Fixed an issue where if you talk to Reza before visiting Dr Roman in Chapter 4, you get an extra goal that never disappears.
  • Fixed an issue where if you go to the Pandemonium and speak to Mira before meeting Baruti in Chapter 4, you will always get the introduction for the neural programming career path, regardless of your actual career path.
  • Solved a problem with a duplicate dialogue line in the Mr London confrontation from Chapter 2.
  • Modified geometry collision in the Enclave and Marcuria, to avoid players getting stuck inside scenery.
  • Fixed a problem on MacBooks where the game would be frozen after the laptop goes to sleep and wakes up again.
  • Added a new icon for apprehending the Azadi collaborator in Chapter 3, to avoid false arrests. This icon will only be available if you start a new game.
  • Zoë’s journal in Chapters 4 and 5 has been expanded to fill in more of the story. To see the new journal entries, you will have to replay the chapters in question.
  • Fixed a problem with the inventory GUI getting stuck after being caught by the patrolling dock guard in Chapter 3.
  • The ‘Continue' button in the main menu is now disabled when the ‘Start Book Two’ option is available, to avoid confusion. ‘Continue’ always loads your last save game; it does not start a new episode.
  • All new save games will now be preceded with the chapter number, to make save game organisation a bit easier. Existing save games will not be updated.
  • The much requested consequence/important dialogue toggle has been added to settings. This is on by default, but can now be switched off. You will no longer see any 'immersion breaking' messages…but you might also miss out on some of the more subtle consequences of your choices and actions in the game.
  • Fixed a shader problem that could cause glowing corneas ('laser eyes') on ATI video cards. Please note that this is a work in progress and there may still be issues with this shader.
  • Fixed an issue where players could get permanently stuck in Zoë's apartment in Book One.
  • Brought back missing NPC atmospheric conversations in Europolis. These conversation were present in version 1.x but disappeared in version 2.0.
  • Ensured that the game will default to English text/voice if there are missing German/French subtitles or voice files.
  • Fixed an issue where interaction points on the shank and key in Friar's Keep in Book One could get offset in a save game.
  • Fixed an issue where the mouse pointer could get hidden when application focus was lost during dialogue options.
  • Re-added missing Arn Stont dialogue for Friar's Keep.
  • Re-added missing Bricks merchant voice-overs.

  • Fixed the story flag bug that prevented some choices from Book Two to carry over to Book Three. Please note that you will need to load your final save game from Book Two and play through to the end of that episode to properly record your choices.
  • Fixed gameplay-specific lighting in House of All Worlds.

  • Fixed a crash affecting players who had to reload a Book Three save game in order to replay the final decision point before starting Book Four.
  • Enabled light shafts for Nvidia graphics cards on MacBooks and iMacs.
  • Fixed a reflection probe issue for Intel Iris graphics cards on MacBooks.
  • Summary screen said 'Book One' instead of 'Book Four'; this is now fixed.
  • Fixed a number of collision issues.
  • Fixed an issue where Kian could get permanently stuck in the administrator's office.
  • Fixed an issue where Kian could accidentally lock himself out of the world in the prison tower.
  • Fixed a rare issue where the player could get stuck if the camera was positioned inside NPCs.
  • Loading a save game in the Northlands forest could cause Crow to be rotated on top of the Elgwan: this has been fixed.
  • When Anna kissed Kian in chapter 8, she missed his face. She no longer misses.
  • Fixed an issue where players were sometimes unable to reveal their final secret to the Yaga.
  • Fixed some minor lip sync, footsteps and text bugs.
